What risks are associated with lip augmentation?
Swelling, bruising and tenderness are common temporary sequelae of lip augmentation procedures.
Other risks are longer lasting swelling, infection, bleeding, asymmetry, lumps and irregularities. Fillers, rarely, if injected into a blood vessel can cause tissue ulceration and scarring.
Implants, if not desired, can be removed.
