Rhinoplasty in Seattle
One of the most common types of plastic surgery, rhinoplasty is more often referred to as a “nose job.” Patients elect to get rhinoplasty for many reasons, and no two surgeries are ever alike. Many patients want to reduce the size of the nose, while others may want to remove ridges or bumps. Here at the Bel-Red Center for Aesthetic Surgery, we provide rhinoplasty in Seattle to our patients, performed by our resident physician, Dr. Jan Zemplenyi.
Prior to the surgery, there will be several appointments and consultations so that the patients and the doctor can speak about what they would like to accomplish with rhinoplasty. Often, a portion of the nose must be augmented so that another portion can be minimized. Another important note about rhinoplasty is that the nose must still look symmetrical with the rest of the face – a doctor can not make a nose too small, as the bigger picture will not look right.
Dr. Zemplenyi uses computer-generated images to test to see exactly how the surgery should be performed. The patient is involved in every step of the process, always giving feedback. The doctor may also revamp the nasal framework, or use skin patches to overlap section.
A very experienced cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Zemplenyi also performs revision rhinoplasty. This is a type of surgery especially for those who have had an unsuccessful rhinoplasty, including those that have caused breathing difficulties or other problems.
It is important to note that rhinoplasty does require anesthesia but the doctor and patient can either choose twilight anesthesia, or general. All rhinoplasty is performed right in our office.
