Patients contemplating body contouring surgery (liposuction, tummy tuck or breast augmentation) may further improve their contour with a weight loss program either before or after their surgery. In contrast to many other dietary programs, the Ideal Protein system is a physician-supervised program involving weight loss with particular attention to preservation of lean body muscle mass. This program was initially developed for French Olympic athletes.
Dr. Zemplenyi attended a meeting presented by the Washington Ambulatory Surgical Association (WASCA) to keep current with various rules and regulations concerning licensure, certification, and accreditation of surgical centers.
