This type of procedure has several steps, and employs the use of liposuction to an area of the body that has an adequate amount of fat. For most patients, this occurs in the thigh, buttocks, or abdomen area. These fatty deposits are then applied to the area that needs them, quite often the face, with the use of fat grafting and injections. This type of surgery can also be used in breast augmentation procedures.

This is a surgical procedure that does require some sedation and recovery time. For the liposuction portion of the procedure, the doctor can either use full anesthesia or twilight sedation, both of which are available in the Bel-Red offices. For grafting and injections, no type of anesthesia is necessary.
