What kind of anesthesia is used during a chin implant procedure?
In general, IV anesthesia is used for chin implant surgery. “Twilight sleep” anesthesia uses a sedating medication administered though soft IV tubing to keep the patient comfortable, pain free and without recollection of the the procedure. There is no breathing tube placed in the throat. Patients wake up quickly, able to go home within half an hour to an hour.
