Bellevue, Seattle Scar Revision & Keloids Patient 2
Back to Gallery Previous Next35-year-old woman underwent an appendectomy for a ruptured appendix complicated by a subsequent infection. The indented scar cast a shadow on the skin surface. Scar revision included removal of the scarred tissue under local anesthesia, and approximation of fresh tissue edges in a multi-layer “plastic” closure. The skin surface is now flat and devoid shadowing. Additional laser resurfacing and IPL (intense pulse light) may be used to decrease red color, and. scar creams help to lighten the color and improve the texture of the scar. *Individual patient results will vary
