Understanding Chin Implants

Following a small incision, the implant is inserted just below the skin of the chin.  The implant is made of synthetic material that feels so much like the tissue naturally found in the chin that most people can’t tell the difference.  The implant is available in a wide variety of sizes and shapes so you can find one that fits your face.

After surgery you’ll have a dressing that stays in place for about three days.  There will be some mild tenderness but at the Bel-Red Center for Aesthetic Surgery, Dr. Jan Zemplenyi will prescribe medicine to make you comfortable. Chewing may be limited so expect to be on a soft food diet for a few days following the surgery.  The discomfort tends to last only a few days.  Many of our patients in the Seattle area can resume normal daily activities in less than a week.
